This past holiday season, the Mental Health Clinic of Passaic had a lot of support in its efforts to obtain toys to give to the children we serve across all our programs. The Clinic would like to thank everyone who donated. Some donated toys, some donated games, or gift cards, and some made monetary donations. All of your support and generosity helped to make the holidays a little brighter for the children in our specialized programs. Barnes & Noble Gift Wrapping 2018

The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic once again participated in Gift wrapping at Barnes & Noble on Route 46 in Woodland Park. The Clinic would like to thank the staff at Barnes & Noble for helping to make our fundraising efforts a success. We would like to thank everyone who donated to the fundraiser and we would especially like to thank those who volunteered their time to do the gift wrapping.
MHCP Art Projects

The School Based Youth Services Program at Passaic Academy (Formally Lincoln Middle School) recently completed two art projects with its girls group. The first was a collage project which they completed with a school art teacher. The completed collages were displayed in the school. The second project was a Mom & Daughter Pizza & Paint Night. A professional artist from the Art Academy in Pompton Lakes came to the school to complete the project with the mothers and daughters. All of the participants had a lot of fun. This project was funded in part through a grant from Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council and New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Here are some photos from the art projects.
MHCP Fourth Annual Pocketbook Bingo

The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic recently held its 4th Annual Pocketbook Bingo on October 14, 2018 at the Totowa PAL. The event this year was dedicated in Memory of long time MHCP supporter Diane Jacobs. We would like to thank everyone who donated to help make this event a huge success. Desserts and Coffee were donated by: Mr. Cupcakes, Clifton; Gourmet Desserts, Clifton; Corrado's, Clifton; Packanack Bakery, Wayne; Jane Gurtman Grubin; and Starbucks, Clifton. Pocketbooks were donated by: Fran Cardinale, Michele Chambers, Beverly Ficon, Jane Gurtman Grubin, Samantha Ladell and Jim & Maureen Robbins. Balloons were donated by Christina Sanabria. Sponsors were: David Jacobs and Myrna Nadler. We would also like to thank the Totowa PAL for once again donating the space for our event. Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who attended our event. It would not have been the fun and exciting event that it was without all of you. Congratulations to all the winners! We hope to see you again next year!!
MHCP Sip & Paint

The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic recently held its first Sip & Paint Fundraiser at the Garden Vista Ballroom in Passaic. The Clinic would like to thank: Bee N Crafty from Nutley who instructed participants on how to paint their own masterpieces; The Garden Vista Ballroom who graciously donated their staff and facility as well as food for everyone; and Julian & Sue Carrera for volunteering to take photos. We would especially like to give a big thank you to everyone who came out to support the Mental Health Clinic by being there to paint! As you can see from the photos everyone had a great time!
MHCP Staff Ugly Sweater Party

The Clinic's 1451 VanHouten Avenue location in Clifton got into the holiday spirit recently with an "Ugly" Sweater day. As you can see from the photos, the staff went all out and had a great time. The winner of the "Best" sweater was Marizabel Laurencio from the Ida Gurtman Therapeutic Children's Program 2. She appropriately won an Ugly Sweater Cookie making kit!
Gregory Ave Ribbon Cutting

The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic recently held a Grand Opening for our newest location. The location at 124 Gregory Avenue, Passaic NJ, is an expansion of the Clinic’s Outpatient services. The Open House and Dedication of the Condo took place on Thursday November 16, 2017. Arnold & Ruth Shurkin were honored for their donation of the office condo and were presented with a plaque which will hang on the wall at the site. Several Staff, Board and community members were in attendance and were provided with light refreshments and a tour of the facility.
MHCP 50th Anniversary Gala

The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic celebrated 50 years of service to the Passaic County Community with a special Celebration on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Valley Regency, Clifton NJ. Clinic founding member, Dr. Sylvia Riskin and Clifton Mayor James Anzaldi were honored at this very special occasion. Everyone who attended enjoyed the fabulous food and service provided by the venue. A special thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to the Ad Journal, who attended the event, who helped with planning the event or contributed to our commemorative section of the journal with their Memories of the Clinic.

The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic would like to announce its new Officers for its Board of Directors effective July 1, 2019. The new Officers are: James H. Robbins- President; Jane Gurtman Grubin- Vice President; Beverly Ficon - Secretary; and Eric Heyer- Treasurer. Along with the rest of the Directors, the Officers will continue to serve in the best interest of the Mental Health Clinic of Passaic and will strive to bring the MHCP to the forefront of the community it serves.
The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic is 501 (c) (3), private, not-for-profit, community outpatient mental health facility serving Passaic County adults, children and families. The Mental Health Clinic of Passaic provides services to approximately 4,200 individuals each year and is heavily invested in specialized children's mental health programs. The Mission of the Clinic is to provide comprehensive outpatient and school- based services to children, adults and families who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. The main- focus of Clinic intervention is to help clients become positive, productive members of their communities.
