PROGRAM

The Partial Care 6-11 program serves children between the ages of 6 and 11 who have been psychiatrically hospitalized, or who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. The families of these children are treated simultaneously. This is an on-site, after-school, year ‘round intensive therapeutic program that meets for three hours daily, Monday through Friday, after school from 3:15 pm to 6:15 pm. During the summer the program runs from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.

 

The program provides a nurturing, structured, therapeutic environment in which children interact with peers and adults, and learn positive, developmentally appropriate socialization skills.  Families learn to function more positively, supportively, and effectively.

 

Children work in groups variously arranged by age, level of functioning, gender, common interest or challenge with a counselor and facilitator. The children are all monitored by the on-site psychiatrist and each receives weekly individual counseling.
